ECMA Regulatory Sandbox
A supervised innovation environment under Ethiopia's capital markets regulator for testing compliant products and processes.
An ECMA regulatory sandbox is a supervised setting where innovators can test capital-markets-related products, services, or processes under the Ethiopian Capital Market Authority's oversight, typically with clearer reporting and consumer-protection expectations than an unsupervised launch. Sandbox participation usually requires strong identity, entity, and compliance records. SEBL is designed for ECMA sandbox alignment — digitizing Fayda ID verification, MInT certification tracking, and ECMA-relevant milestones — so teams can prepare operational evidence for sandbox or supervised-program readiness. SEBL does not grant ECMA sandbox admission; admission remains with the regulator.
